John,

Running for Congress in a largely rural district in Ohio can sometimes invite folks who don’t live here, or who reside in bigger cities, to stereotype me and the good people I represent. We’re used to it—and we know that, most of the time, we know that this kind of thinking comes from lack of experience or ignorance of our way of life.

When members of my own party repeat damaging stereotypes about rural Americans, I take it as an opportunity to educate and recruit more supporters to broaden our coalition to be a big tent party. But when hypocrites who get elected to represent us in government let slip their true feelings about rural life, nothing gets me angrier and more determined to beat them.

Jim Jordan thinks that us “hillbillies” in rural Ohio, as he says, are so utterly stupid and biased that no one believes that Donald Trump should be held accountable for any crimes he may have committed after he attempted to overturn the 2020 election.

Jordan may think the hillbillies in “flyover country” despise justice and the rule of law, but he is wrong. I’ve met a lot of Independents and Republicans who are appalled by Trump’s actions and they REALLY hate more attempts by Jordan to cover up another scandal and more criminal behavior:

Real rural Ohioans I met earlier today - (1) they aren't hillbillies, and (2) they do not support Trump and what he did on Jan. 6th. They are also both voting for me!

Jim Jordan, the career politician who has been living the elite D.C. life for over 16 years, has never represented us here in Ohio’s Fourth District, nor the country for that matter. He hasn’t written any bills and he votes against all of us 97% of the time. And his hillbilly comment shows just how out of touch he is. I strongly condemn Jordan’s statements — and I am calling on your support to put Jordan on notice, once again, this time for gaslighting and stereotyping rural Ohioans, his own people:

Help me send Jim Jordan back home to Northern Virginia, or whatever part of Washington, D.C. he spends all his time in.

Ohioans don’t need him around, anyhow.

For ALL of US,
