Kingston Regional Stormwater Facility Update

Kitsap County Public Works is making infrastructure improvements along Ohio Avenue between Central Avenue NE and Highway 104 in Kingston.

Construction will start September 2023 (after Labor Day) and will last approximately 60 working days.

What to Expect During Construction:

* Ohio Avenue to be closed between Central Avenue and Main Street during the project.
* Intermittent closure of the Central Avenue and Washington Blvd intersection.
* Road Closure schedule to be determined as the contractor progresses.
* Private parking on properties adjacent to Ohio Avenue will remain open during the project.
* Periodic traffic delays.
* Construction noise.

This project serves the central Kingston urban growth area (UGA) and will improve water quality. The project has several benefits and will:


* Improve water quality by addressing stormwater [ [link removed] ]treatment system deficiencies.
* Create a regional water quality treatment facility that will treat approximately 65 acres of drainage.
* Install a total of six underground stormwater treatment vaults on Ohio between Central and Main and the intersection of Central and Washington.
* Add new sidewalks on both sides of Ohio Avenue between Central Avenue and Main Street.
