John, I’ve got more concerning news on those proposed spending cuts.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children — or WIC, for short — nourishes kids and eligible adults across the U.S.
But Congress is considering serious cuts to WIC’s funding. The numbers we’re hearing could impact more than 5 million young children and pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding adults.
This support protects their lives and futures — and we need your voice to fight for it. [LINK]
John, if these cuts go through, WIC funding will be at its lowest level since 2007.
For the first time in decades, as many as 750,000-800,000 eligible adults and kids could be forced to go on a waitlist without access to support. Benefits for buying fruits and vegetables could be greatly reduced, too, putting countless families’ health at risk.
Send an urgent message: We can’t cut nutrition support during a nationwide hunger crisis.
Thanks for being a voice for kids,
