John,

You might have already seen Anthony Albanese’s announcement that Labor will commit Australia to a target of net zero emissions by 2050 if we win the next election.

It’s a big announcement and it’s the right thing to do – climate change is real and this is what the scientists say needs to happen to address it.

But I’ve worked on a lot of Labor campaigns and I know what will happen next.

The hard-line conservatives in the Coalition will start their fear campaign.

They’ll be backed up by the climate deniers in conservative media.

And the big donors who don’t want any meaningful action on climate change will open their wallets.

According to data recently released by the Australian Electoral Commission, during the last election year the Liberals raised $39 million more than Labor.

That’s a big advantage that means more Liberal ads saturating marginal electorates. We need to start work now to close that gap –  can you donate $15 to help us start building our campaign right now?

I know that when we work together, Labor can really take the fight up to the Liberals.

At the next federal election, I want us to build a people-powered campaign – one that’s driven by volunteers and funded by thousands of small donations from grassroots donors.

It’ll be hard work but Labor can do it, and that hard work starts now,  so will you help us build our people-powered campaign with a small $15 donation?

Let’s give the Libs a run for their money.

Paul Erickson,
National Secretary

P.S.  Any amount you can give, large or small, will help us build the people-powered campaign we need to win the next election, so can you donate?
