What if I told you that there are nearly 2,000 gigawatts of wind, solar, and storage just waiting to be built? That's enough to power the entire country on reliable, affordable clean energy.

The reason for the stall? Slow-moving utilities and lack of transmission lines. 

Fortunately, as of last month, this is about to change—thanks, in part, to Evergreen advocates like you. 

Thousands of Evergreen action-takers submitted comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)—the agency responsible for regulating transmission and power markets—calling for sped-up interconnection deadlines and penalties for utilities that fail to meet them. 

And FERC listened. Their new interconnection rule will do just that, meaning more clean energy on the grid, faster. 

If we want to fully decarbonize our grid and get to 100 percent clean power by 2035, the U.S. needs to triple its transmission infrastructure. 

So while there's certainly more work to fully power our grid with clean energy, thanks to your action, we're on our way.
