** HOMES Grants for Eligible Homeowners
------------------------------------------------------------
Mecklenburg County Government and the City of Charlotte are proud to be an ally for residents. Qualified Mecklenburg County homeowners may be eligible for a HOMES program grant up to $426. Residents within the Charlotte city limits may receive additional grant funding (up to $234), so they may receive up to $660 total. Deadline to apply is Nov. 17.

Household income must not exceed 80% of the area's median income based on number of people in the family.

Grant funds will be paid to the Mecklenburg County Tax Collector, who will reduce the total amount of taxes due for qualifying recipients' primary residence. The amount granted will be equal to 25% of the Mecklenburg County tax amount on the last available tax bill, rounded to the nearest dollar, not to exceed $426.

If you live within the Charlotte City limits, you may qualify for an additional grant. The amount granted will be equal to 25% of the City of Charlotte tax amount on the last available tax bill, rounded to the nearest dollar, not to exceed $234. Qualifying residents may receive up to $660 if awarded the maximum amount for both grants.
