Hi there,
By now you’ve heard. You’ve probably even seen the FEC report that was just made public as of a few hours ago. January’s fundraising numbers were lower than we hoped. Now, we need to raise $13 million to keep our campaign going through Super Tuesday.

This isn’t an arbitrary goal. This isn’t a made-up number. This is the amount we need to raise to stay competitive. Right now we’re leading in delegates, and we need to keep it that way.
We can’t afford to fall behind -- not in a race this tight, and not when our opponents are self-funding billionaires like Michael Bloomberg and Washington political machines like Bernie Sanders with Super PACs and dark money groups behind him.
If you’re with us, join us with a donation so we can continue this fight together.

Subject: An update on our fundraising progress
Hi there,
Later today, we are submitting our January fundraising report to the FEC. We raised $6 million in the first month of this year, and an additional $11 million so far this month.
We won the Iowa Caucuses, and we came in second in New Hampshire -- with just about 4,000 fewer votes than the sitting senator of the neighboring state. We've had some of our highest fundraising days this month, but -- frankly -- our numbers should have been better. And what we did raise would have gone a lot further without another billionaire in the race.
But here’s the reality: With Michael Bloomberg in the race, and with nine dark money groups supporting Bernie Sanders, the goalposts have moved.
We are no longer just up against Bernie Sanders, the Washington politician who has been running for president for years. We are now also up against a billionaire who is throwing colossal sums of money on television instead of doing the work of campaigning. He just expects others to clear a path for him and his money.
That’s not how we should choose a president.
So today we’re being honest with the folks who’ve gotten us here: We need to raise a significant amount of money -- about $13 million -- before Super Tuesday on March 3rd in order to stay competitive.

Last night on the debate stage, I hope I made it clear: We do not need to choose between a revolution or the status quo. There is an American majority waiting. There is an American majority stirring. We are ready for a new kind of politics, and this campaign has the ability to unleash it.
We are the best shot at defeating Donald Trump. But the reality is, if we can’t raise $13 million before Super Tuesday, we might never get that shot.
I’m asking you: If you believe we shouldn’t have to choose between one candidate who wants to burn this party down and another candidate who wants to buy this party out, please help us raise $13 million before Super Tuesday so we can stay competitive in this race.
You’ll be hearing from members of my team about what this means for our campaign and what we need to do as a community to raise the resources we need.
Thanks,
Pete
