keeping you up to date on all things Northeast Wisconsin The July NEWsflash Friend, Welcome back to the July edition of The NEWsflash, a collection of stories and happenings from Northeast Wisconsin over the past month. July was a busy month that included everything from celebrating milestones for local businesses to recognizing the work of Eagle Scouts. I've included some photos and highlights from a few of the events my team and I were able to attend. You can also find information on how my office can help you with any federal problem you may have. As always, please don't hesitate to contact my office if we can ever be of assistance. Semper Fi, Safety First: On July 11, a member of my staff joined members of the Oconto Falls community to break ground on their new fire station. The new fire station will be built in the southern part of the city and will include updated modern amenities that will improve overall capabilities of the department, such as five double bay doors. I am looking forward to the project's success! Honoring Young Leaders: A member of my team had the opportunity to attend the Court of Honor Ceremony for Eagle Scout Micah Maggio of Troop 643 in Waupaca. For Micah's Eagle Scout Project he raised approximately $6,000 for a new outdoor play system at a local church in Waupaca. Congratulations to Micah on such a remarkable accomplishment! Celebrating Milestones: On July 12, a member of my team attended the 75th Anniversary Picnic at Curative Connections. Curative Connections works hard to ensure families, seniors, and people with disabilities get necessary support and care relating to aging, dementia, brain injury, and disabilities. Congratulations to the entire Curative team on this outstanding milestone! NEW Additions: On July 25, a member of my staff attended the ribbon cutting and housewarming event for the Vida Trinity House in Appleton. The Vida Trinity House is the Fox Valley's first transitional residential maternity home of its kind and is expected to welcome residents in early fall of 2023. Working Together: A member of my team attended the legislative breakfast held at Aspiro in Green Bay on July 31. The attendees heard from local, state, and federal elected officials, Aspiro President Lincoln Burr, and special guest speaker Archer Archer, on the importance of serving people with disabilities by helping them reach their goals, connect with their community, and achieve independence. Aspiro is a true power of good in our community and I thank them for their continued service! Oneida Nation's Bicentennial: On July 25, a member of my staff attended the kick-off breakfast for Oneida Nation's Bicentennial week. During the week of celebrations, Oneida Nation hosted several events for the community including a family fun day consisting of a farmer's market, horse and wagon rides, and fireworks. Congratulations to members of the Oneida Nation on such a tremendous milestone! NEW Business: Office Furniture Warehouse celebrated the opening of its first location in the Fox Cities and a member of my team witnessed first-hand the services they provide. They work to provide design, installation, and liquidation services to customers by offering high quality new and pre-owned office furniture. Welcome to Appleton and best of luck at your new location! Good Eats: On July 12, the Cannery Test Kitchen and Incubator celebrated its grand opening on Broadway in Green Bay. A member of my staff visited the unique space that will house and support early-stage food and beverage entrepreneurs by providing affordable space and access to resources. Over the coming years, the entrepreneurs will be coached by experts to help them advance in the food and beverage industry.
