Breaking news from a broken Congress:

House Republicans left the Farm bill to die and went on vacation.

To the GOP, this is just another day of obstructionism, but for working Americans, it's a disaster. The Farm bill funds critical services folks depend on, including SNAP, loans to small farms, forest management, crop insurance, rural development.

None of that matters to right wing extremists in Congress who ran out the clock on the session and then jetted off to their vacations instead of ensuring rural families have the support they need.

So, we're going to remind the GOP extremists why they were elected: to pass the damn bill. Can we count on you to help us fight for the Farm Bill? [[link removed]]

Here's what really grinds my gears: the same far right extremists who are blocking the Farm Bill also love to brag that they're speaking for rural voters.

They're not. The Farm Bill is a must-pass piece of legislation. It supports rural families, economies, and communities, and if the radical-right keeps it from passing, rural Americans – including thousands of small family farms – will be harmed, almost overnight.

So members of Congress who care about rural America, or working families across our nation, wouldn't have played stupid political games with the Farm Bill. They would have passed it.

The GOP must end this blockade and pass the Farm Bill immediately. And with your help, we'll hold their feet to the fire until they get off Fox and Friends and back to doing their jobs. Chip in $3 today and let's get Congress back to work and turn the Farm Bill into law. [[link removed]]

They're running away from their responsibilities, so let's bring the fight to them.
