Last week, my colleagues and I in the House passed legislation to nix the ratification deadline for the Equal Rights Amendment. This would eliminate one obstacle to codifying equal rights for all into the United States Constitution, since the deadline for states to ratify this amendment passed way back in 1982. I’m fighting to eliminate that. Now, with three new states throwing their support behind the ERA, we are on the verge of amending the Constitution, but that all could be stopped if the Senate refuses to hold a vote on eliminating the ERA’s ratification deadline. We need your support now to make the ERA a reality. We’re looking for 2,000 supporters of mine to help us urge immediate action. Add your name to call on my Senate colleagues to hold a vote on ending the ERA’s ratification deadline! ADD YOUR NAME Basic human rights and equality for women and girls should become a part of the U.S. constitution -- the legal document that the foundation of our entire country rests on. I need you to add your name with mine to call on Congress to finally nix the ratification deadline for the Equal Rights Amendment.
