Friend,
Last night's debate exposed Michael Bloomberg for the fake Democrat that
he is.
Elizabeth Warren eviscerated him for his record of harassing women and
for blaming the end of redlining for the 2008 housing crash. Bernie
shredded him for trying to buy the election. They all called him out for
stop-and-frisk.
Bloomberg was slammed for endorsing George W. Bush, funding Republican
Senate candidates, and calling Obamacare a "disgrace."
Here's the really sad part: Bloomberg's record should have stopped his
campaign right out of the gate—but instead, the corporate media took his
money and gave him a free pass.
Bloomberg has spent more than $460 million on his campaign, from
millions on Super Bowl ads to CNN spots to even more on commercials in
YouTube videos. He's lining the pockets of the executives in charge of
the major media outlets, and he's touting policies that benefit the
corporate execs and the rest of the 1%. In return, they're trying to
give him a free pass to the presidency.
Our democracy depends on a free, open press that reports on the news no
matter who is being paid. That's why nonprofit, independent journalism
outlets like Common Dreams are so important.
Common Dreams doesn't have corporate owners or billionaire advertisers.
We are only accountable to our readers.
