Congress Must Act to Protect Animals ([link removed])

Friend,

Rarely has there been so much at stake for animals than there is right now. Will millions of animals be doomed to suffer, or will they receive the protections they so urgently need? That is the choice facing Congress in a matter of weeks—and they need to know that Americans like you stand firmly on the side of animals.

Take action today: Tell your members of Congress to support legislation that protects animals and to defeat any measure that puts animals at risk of abuse or exploitation. ([link removed])

Congress is now out for their August recess—and there is still much work to be done for animals. We’ll never take a break from advocating for animals when their lives are on the line. We must demand that when Congress returns, they act on key measures that will protect animals. Your one action can impact all of these critical legislative measures:
* Stopping the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act, which could eliminate state animal protection laws and doom billions of animals to lives of suffering. We must ensure a humane Farm Bill passes that protects animals.
* The Better CARE for Animals Act would strengthen Animal Welfare Act enforcement, helping to end unnecessary suffering of animals and helping to save their lives before it’s too late.
* The Humane Cosmetics Act would finally end cruel cosmetics testing on animals in the U.S. protecting millions of animals each year from outdated and ineffective testing just to sell lipstick or deodorant.
* The Puppy Protection Act would improve living conditions for tens of thousands of dogs and puppies kept in USDA-regulated puppy mills.
* The Save America’s Forgotten Equine (SAFE) Act would permanently ban the slaughter of horses in the U.S. and stop American horses from being shipped to other countries for slaughter.
* The Prevent All Soring Tactics (PAST) Act would eliminate the abusive act of soring horses.
* Ensuring grizzly bears and gray wolves continue to be protected by the Endangered Species Act and preventing these still-recovering species from being hunted to the brink of extinction.

Animals are counting on you to speak up right now! Take action and urge Congress to prioritize legislation that saves animals’ lives and protects them from needless cruelty. ([link removed])
