John –
The Voting Rights Act, born out of the struggle of the civil rights movement, is a testament to the enduring spirit of democracy.
But it didn’t come easy. Civil rights activists and organizers fought bravely and boldly—often in the face of horrific violence—for their fundamental right to the ballot box. A fight that culminated in the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
This hallmark legislation was critical in preventing racial discrimination at the ballot box, and led to registering and enfranchising millions of new voters.
Now, almost 60 years later, our hard-fought rights are STILL under attack. Since the gutting of key provisions of the Voting Rights Act in
Shelby vs. Holder, GOP state legislatures are creating new barriers to the ballot box—often targeting Black and Brown communities.
It’s time to expand the Voting Rights Act, John. Will you pitch in $5, or any amount you can, to help retake our House majority, expand the Voting Rights Act, and enshrine our fundamental right to the ballot box into law?

I was proud to vote alongside my Democratic colleagues to pass two historic voting rights bills—and I’m ready to do it again once Democrats retake our House majority.
It’s especially important now more than ever, as Republicans not only pass voter disenfranchisement laws in state legislatures across the country, but continue to be beholden to a three-time indicted president who tried to overturn a democratically-held election.
The GOP has all but abandoned the core principles of our democracy. We must retake our House majority, expand the Voting Rights Act, and ensure our democracy remains strong and resilient for generations to come.
Chip in $5, or anything you can, to ensure we have the resources to win, take back the House, and protect our sacred and inalienable right to vote. >>>
Thank you,
