Friend,
Today is Purple Heart Day, and I am a Purple Heart Veteran.
The short story…
I lost two legs as a soldier fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The long story…
For me, my Purple Heart is a reminder that every sacrifice I made was worth it. I will always put service above self, and I have a daily reminder of my commitment—every time I look down to see my legs missing.
My father inspired me to follow in his footsteps, and follow my heart, to join the Army and serve the country I love.
I had the honor of serving under the elite Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) as a bomb disposal expert. Army life, for me, was always dangerous and very often deadly. After years of service, my final mission resulted in sustaining life-altering injuries when a Taliban bomb exploded under me.
I say life-altering injuries, not because I simply lost my legs, but because I know now how much I would sacrifice to protect the country I love — everything.
If I could, I would make that same sacrifice over and over again to save the lives of my fellow soldiers. Luckily, I live on, but the fight to put America First continues.
Today, I am imploring you to support our America First movement and support conservative veterans running for Congress.
