Governor DeWine Announces Key Staff
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced that Giles Allen will serve as his Director of Legislative Affairs. Allen currently serves as the Governor?s Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs and succeeds Aaron Crooks, who was recently named Chief of Staff for Lt. Governor Jon Husted.

As our recent biennial budget showed, my administration has a good relationship with the General Assembly that has yielded significant policy achievements ? from mental health to growing our workforce to education and literacy to our state parks and protecting our water,? said Governor DeWine. ?Giles Allen has played a significant role in working with the legislature and is the right person to continue to lead efforts to advocate for and help pass my policy priorities in the General Assembly.?
Since January of 2019, Allen has served on Governor DeWine?s legislative affairs team.? During his time as one of Governor DeWine's legislative agents, Giles has developed and cultivated strong and important relationships with the Ohio General Assembly and the various stakeholders around Ohio.?
Allen is a long-time aide to Governor DeWine, beginning with serving as his personal aide during his 2010 campaign for Ohio Attorney General. Following his undergraduate studies, Giles worked for the Ohio Attorney General?s Office in the Constituent Services Section. Following his graduation from law school, Allen returned to the Attorney General?s office as an Assistant Attorney General.? During law school, Giles worked for then Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O?Brien in both the criminal and civil divisions of the Franklin County Prosecutor?s Office.
Allen is a graduate of Ohio University and received his law degree from Capital University Law School.
