We spoke about my initial aversion to politics — I thought I was purely a service person after years at AmeriCorps. Several years and jobs later, I came to understand just how much the two overlapped, and how badly our democracy needed leaders who had the integrity to stand up for what is right.

After managing campaigns, I realized just how important it was to understand the ins and outs of the political arena. But in order to elect the servant leaders our democracy desperately needed, they would need a support system along the way.
