Dear John,
Today, I had the honor of being in court when a judge told Chin his case was terminated—this means he won his case! We fought for his freedom. And now he’s one step closer to returning home.
He’ll be able to see his family, his friends, his community. He’ll be able to call his sister whenever he wants. He’ll be able to take a walk and sit at the park. He’ll be able to work with his doctor on his healthcare. These were all things he was denied while detained.
Thank you. Our lawyers could not have done this without you. You are part of the team that worked to #BringChinHome. Donate by clicking here and supporting our work to end detention for all trans migrants.
Thank you endlessly for showing up. This is proof that every time you choose to act, it matters. Every signature on a petition, every call, every dollar, and every email counts.
This victory is fuel for our campaign to shut down immigration prisons and advocate for the release of all LGBTQ migrants and people living with HIV. Chin is just one of many people who need to be freed. And we know we’ll have many more victories with you on our side. Onward,
Lynly Egyes
