Thank you for taking time to read my weekly update. Below you'll learn more about what I'm doing in Washington to support Iowans in the first district.
It is always great to meet with Iowans as I travel across the first district! It truly is my favorite part of serving in Congress. Speaking to Iowans allows me to stay informed about what is happening in their communities and what I can do to help.
I had a great meeting with Lee County Sheriff Stacy Weber to discuss how we can better support our law enforcement officers.
It was a pleasure to attend the Allied Blending groundbreaking ceremony to get a first look at their expanding operations in Keokuk.
I visited Innovate 120 in Maquoketa, an entrepreneurial hub with programs that foster innovation and business growth. We had a great discussion about their coworking spaces, science camps for kids, and their UX/UI internship for high schoolers.
It was a pleasure to visit The Helping Hand of Warren County. They provide free food and clothing for those in need in the community.
I had a great tour of Simpson College with new President Jay Byers. We discussed the impressive rankings Simpson has earned and their continued campus beautification projects.
I had a great meeting with Mahaska County officials to discuss infrastructure and economic development projects in the community. I also got to tour the County Conservation Center and saw their model of a woolly mammoth skeleton found only 10 miles away!
I met with folks from Access Energy, including CEO Kevin Wheeler, in Mount Pleasant.
