I want to say thank you for contributing to Their Future PAC’s July fundraising goal—every dollar raised is crucial to ensuring we can continue our efforts.

There’s a lot of issues we’re focused on as an organization, because the ways in which our country is failing our kids are plentiful.

Here’s a startling figure: The number of gun deaths among children and teens in America jumped by over 50% between 2019 and 2021 alone.

We hear a lot about mass shootings in the media and that’s definitely an important part of this epidemic, but many of gun deaths for small children are unintentional. This means a child gains access to an unsecured firearm and unintentionally pulls the trigger, killing themselves or someone else.

More children die from unintentional firearm injuries than in mass shootings every year… a fact we don’t talk about nearly enough.

The one thing you can do right now to keep your kids safe is to: talk to the parents of the kids they play with and to family members about the importance of secure firearm storage in the home. Yes, it’s daunting—like stepping onto a political battlefield—but these are the conversations that save lives.
