BAD NEWS:
New Alabama voting map sends Montgomery to MAGA District

I’m outraged. Our hard-won Supreme Court case siding with the Voting Rights Act, siding with fairness and equity, and real representation in government is being ignored by the Republican super majority in the Alabama legislature.
Not only are the state legislature and governor advancing maps that do NOT create a second minority majority voting district in Alabama as directed, they are trying to REDUCE the number of Black voters in my home district.
The Black population in the 2nd district is only 39.93%, which is far below what is needed to ensure that Black voters have a real opportunity to elect a candidate of their choice AND pushes the Black vote as low as possible without going below 50% in my district, leaving my seat vulnerable to an extreme MAGA challenger.
We can’t let that happen, John. This new map flies in the face of everything the original lawsuit intended. I cannot waste a second if I’m going to fight back at the polls in 2024. Chip in $10 here to split a donation between The Collective PAC and my campaign if you’re on my side>>>

But it’s not just that they are reducing the number of Black voters in our district, it’s HOW they are doing it….
In one map, they’ve moved Montgomery — a beacon of the civil rights movement and the fight to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965 — to Alabama’s MAGA-controlled, Trumper Second District. It’s horrifying; it’s intentional; and it opens up the only Black-majority district — my district — to a Republican takeover.
We cannot let this stand. That’s why I need your help right now.
Please, give just $10 or whatever you can to split a donation between The Collective PAC and my campaign to help defend my seat and make sure I have the resources it will take to keep Alabama-07 blue in 2024.
For our right to vote,
Terri Sewell
