From her time as one of the only black public finance lawyers in Alabama, when she delivered financing for new campus facilities at Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, and Stillman College, to her work as Congresswoman for Alabama’s 7th District, Terri Sewell has delivered results every step of the way. Today marks the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 , landmark legislation that ensured the right to vote was protected for all Americans.
It was in my hometown of Selma, Alabama where Civil Rights leaders fought, bled, and even died to get the Voting Rights Act passed and signed into law.
But now, 58 years later, the sacred promise of the Voting Rights Act is in danger.
As we know all too well, Republicans across the country and especially right here in Alabama are hellbent on dismantling this legislation and making way for their racially discriminatory practices.
I will always fight to restore the full protections of the Voting Rights Act and protect the sacred right to vote for each and every eligible American, but I can’t do it alone. Will you donate $10 now to help me keep up the fight in Congress? [[link removed]]

I’ve spent my career fighting to ensure every American has a voice in our democracy, regardless of race, gender, class, or creed.
We cannot let these attacks on the Voting Rights Act stand.
The GOP is trying to strip away our right to fair representation, and now they’re watching closely to try and replace me with a MAGA Republican and expand their majority. Can you pitch in $5, $10, or even $15 to help me fend them off and keep Alabama-07 blue?>>> [[link removed]]

I will never stop fighting to protect the right to vote in our district, our state, and across our country.
