Dear Friend,
House Republicans promised to faithfully fulfill our oversight responsibilities and ensure our government is accountable to the American people. Over the last seven months, we’ve kept that commitment, investigating serious government overreach by the Biden Administration, such as their collusion with social media companies to restrict the public’s access to information during the pandemic and their unconstitutional student loan bailouts, among others. Simultaneously, we have used our majority in the House to investigate politically motivated abuses of power within the executive branch of the federal government, including a politically motivated Department of Justice with its sights set on President Trump, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary’s dereliction of duty at our southern border, and the Biden family's influence peddling schemes that continue to unfold before our eyes. Below you will find even more information on each of these investigations by the respective committees of jurisdiction in the U.S. House.
While the legislative branch can conduct investigations and bring to light misdoings as well as make criminal referrals to the Department of Justice (DoJ), neither the House nor the Senate can prosecute. Only the DoJ can do that.
As always, I hope you will share this newsletter with a friend or family member. They can subscribe here or connect with me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Whistleblower Investigation
At the beginning of the 118th Congress, multiple IRS whistleblowers came forward to the House Committee on Ways and Means with allegations of severe misconduct regarding a tax investigation involving the President's son, Hunter Biden. Ever since receiving information from the whistleblowers, Republicans on the Committee have been investigating the allegations of misconduct and government abuse by the Biden family. - The Committee released the testimonies of two IRS whistleblowers who investigated Hunter Biden’s tax evasion case. The testimony reveals the Department of Justice (DOJ) engaged in a “Delay, Divulge, and Deny” campaign: Officials delayed the investigation to prevent charging Hunter Biden for his tax crimes; they divulged sensitive information about the investigation to Hunter Biden’s attorneys; and they denied approval to bring charges multiple times.
- Even though IRS officials recommended charges for Hunter Biden's attempt to evade or defeat taxes, he struck a plea deal that a federal judge refused to accept.
- Most recently, the Ways and Means, Judiciary, and Oversight Committees sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland launching an inquiry related to the DoJ’s decision to sign off on Hunter Biden's sweetheart plea deal related to the tax charges.

The Biden Family Investigation
Beyond the IRS, Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee are comprehensively investigating the Biden family’s domestic and international business dealings to determine whether these activities pose a threat to U.S. national security. To date, records obtained through subpoenas issued by the Committee reveal the Biden's and their associates have received over $10 million in payments from foreign entities. - The Complicated Web of Biden Family and Associates’ Companies: Biden family members and business associates created a web of over 20 companies. Most were limited liability companies formed after Joe Biden became Vice President.
- The Biden Family Received Millions of Dollars from Foreign Sources: Bank records show the Biden family, their business associates, and their companies received over $10 million from foreign nationals and their related companies. The Committee has identified payments to Biden family members from foreign companies while he served as Vice President and after he left public office.
- The Biden Family Used the Companies of Business Associates to Receive Foreign Funds: Despite creating many companies after Vice President Biden took office, the Biden family used business associates’ companies to receive millions of dollars from foreign businesses.
- Joe Biden's Knowledge of Hunter Biden's Business Dealings: On Monday, Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, testified in a private interview with the Committee. He confirmed Hunter Biden put then-Vice President Joe Biden on the speakerphone during business meetings more than twenty times. Archer also testified the value of adding Hunter Biden to Burisma’s board was “the brand” and confirmed then-Vice President Joe Biden was “the brand.”

Weaponization of the Department of Justice (DOJ) - Addressing FBI Misconduct and Abuse: In May, the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government received public testimony from FBI whistleblowers about the abuse of Americans’ civil liberties and politicization at the FBI. FBI Director Christopher Wray appeared before the Committee and threatened to hold Director Wray in contempt for failing to comply with the Committee’s subpoenas. As a result, the FBI turned over thousands of pages of documents to further the ongoing investigations.
- Exposing Biden Family Collusion and Corruption: Through many transcribed interviews, the Judiciary Committee exposed how the Biden campaign colluded with former intelligence community officials to discredit allegations about Hunter Biden. The Committee has continued to gather documents and issued a report detailing this collusion.
- Exercising Proper Oversight of the Department of Justice: This oversight began in October 2021 following a memo from Attorney General Merrick Garland directing the FBI and all U.S. Attorney’s Offices to use federal law enforcement resources to examine threats posed by parents at school board meetings. The Committee subpoenaed documents from the DOJ, FBI, and Department of Education. After reviewing these documents, the Committee issued a report detailing how Attorney General Garland’s anti-parent memo lacked any legitimate law enforcement basis. The Committee will hold an oversight hearing with Attorney General Garland on September 20th to get more answers.
Secretary Mayorkas' Dereliction of Duty - Securing our Border: On July 26th, DHS Secretary Mayorkas faced the Judiciary Committee for questioning about the agency's operational failures at our southern border. While Secretary Mayorkas refused to take accountability for this ongoing humanitarian, national security, and public health crisis, House Republicans will continue our robust oversight of Biden's Border Crisis. To date, we have passed immigration enforcement and border security legislation, H.R. 2.
- Articles of Impeachment of Mayorkas, of which I am a co-sponsor, were introduced as a result of his continued abandonment of his duty to secure the border.

Just as the Democrats overreach with taxes, regulations and spending, each of these indictments is more of the same. I have no doubt that if Trump were pulled for going 70 in a 65 on a desolate road, they would charge him with reckless driving or worse. More and more Americans sense a two-tiered justice system fixated on the former president — and they are right.
House Republicans can help bring truth to light but only the American people, through their vote, can ensure we remain a republic.
