Yesterday, FDIC and OCC Announce 30-day Extension of Comment Period for Proposed Changes to Community Reinvestment Act Rules. Prosperity Now will be sharing our comment letter to the Network by March 20.

Democratic Presidential Candidates Release Policy Plans with Housing Protections

Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg [[link removed]] released his plan Monday for “housing justice in America.” His plan includes constructing 2 million rental units to help house 7 million families, and to improve consumer protections for mortgage lending. The plan also lists expanding housing assistance for more than 5 million families with children as a priority. Read Pete's Plan here [[link removed]]

Mike Bloomberg [[link removed]], former mayor of New York City and latecomer in the Democratic race for the presidency, released his financial reform policy plan, and it has sweeping implications for the housing industry. The plan lays out his proposed changes, including a proposal to merge Fannie and Freddie into a single, fully government-owned mortgage guarantor.
