First, let me say thank you for your support over the last couple of months as we build this campaign. And then we can talk about why I almost never say I. It’s not a royal we, it is the acknowledgment that I have an amazing (and growing!) team of people here and that what we are working on needs to be about building coalitions, persuading people, and working together.
On the campaign trail, we have spent the summer working on building out a districtwide infrastructure, which our super-intern, Zach, has spearheaded. It will be sad to send him off to college in the fall.
Team Liz has been out knocking on doors for local candidates who are on ballots across the district this November. Sunday we were in Yorktown, where we made up about half of all canvassers – we connected with hundreds of voters and were very thankful that the heat wave had broken. We marched in the Peekskill 4th of July parade, enjoyed Bastille Day in Piermont, attended the Nyack Famous Street Fair, the Westchester Hispanic Heritage Festival, and had a lovely time at the Lewisboro Dems BBQ – to name just a few highlights from the last month.
It’s hard to believe that it’s already August, and even harder to believe that I will be sending ANOTHER child off to college in the next couple of weeks. I hope you have had a lovely summer and found some time to connect with friends and family in person.
Thank you again for your support, we couldn’t do this without you.
Liz
