Fellow Conservative,
As a former pastor, I’ve seen firsthand the positive effects faith in God can have on individuals and communities.
That’s why I was sad to learn that, according to a recent Gallup survey, church attendance in the United States has hit an all-time low of 30%, down roughly 10% since 2012.
Even worse, the survey found that only 17% of young people aged 18 to 34 had attended church within the past week.
This massive decline in churchgoing is already doing untold damage to our culture. It’s no mistake that the rise in radical “woke” ideology is happening at a time when our church pews are empty.
An entire generation of young people is growing up with little-to-no exposure to church or even the Judeo-Christian values on which our nation was founded. And frankly, I’m deeply concerned that an ultra-secular culture won’t be able to sustain our republic.
As John Adams once said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
I’m fighting in Congress to preserve the traditional religious principles that make our country great. But there’s only so much that can be done politically. I hope you will join me in praying for America and doing your part to stand up for our moral values in your community.
