President Trump's interference with the Department of Justice
presents a grave threat to the rule of law. His corrupt actions
to enable his convicted criminal friends to escape justice make a
mockery of our legal system -- which requires independence,
impartiality and fairness to uphold the law.

Whether it is pressuring the Justice Department to seek leniency
for his political cronies, like Roger Stone, or abusing his
pardon power to help rich, powerful or politically corrupt
friends, President Trump represents a direct threat to the rule
of law and the fair administration of justice.

That can't be allowed. Not in America.

That's why I joined Senator Warren and Senator Hirono to
introduce a bill prohibiting high-level political appointees in
the Department of Justice from interfering with legal matters
related to the President, his family or his political or business
cronies.

Allowing the President to manipulate our legal system for
personal or political advantage is the road to tyranny.

That's why we cannot be silent.

We can't allow the President to manipulate our legal system for personal or political advantage. Sign here to join me, Senator Warren, and Senator Hirono in
support of our legislation to fight corruption in the Department
of Justice.
