Extreme Republicans in Ohio are trying to ram through a ballot initiative on August 8th that would make it harder for Ohioans to have their voices heard. A NO vote on Issue 1 ahead of August 8th will ensure that Ohio voters have a fair chance to pass a ballot initiative that will protect women’s health and reproductive freedoms with a new constitutional amendment now that the Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade.

Do not be fooled. Extreme Republicans do not want to protect women and they will not respect or trust women to make decisions about their own health and families. Voting NO on Issue 1 in Ohio means NO CHANGES—Ohioans get to keep their right to place an issue on the state ballot so the people’s vote can make law in Ohio!

So let us heed Congresswoman Beatty and Ohio Democratic Party Chair Liz Walters’ call: IT IS ALL HANDS ON DECK to help Get Out The Vote to defeat ISSUE 1. We don’t agonize – we organize! And we unionize! Take a phone banking shift to reach Democratic Ohio voters this weekend to VOTE NO ON ISSUE 1.
