Happy August, John!

If you’ve lived in Upper or Northern Michigan very long, you know this is the time of year when our beaches, lakes, and roads are packed...

And, just like clockwork, we know that once the nice weather fades so will all the beach bodies.

Now don’t get us wrong — we love having people visit our towns and support our businesses. August is also the month that Congressional representatives take recess - and it’s likely that our current Representative Jack Bergman will take advantage of the nice weather and perhaps pay the First District a visit.

The thing is though - Upper and Northern Michigan families deserve a representative who does more than visit. We need a representative that understands what it’s like to actually live in our district -and, yes, even when it snows.

Unlike Rep. Bergman, Callie Barr knows the ups and downs that come with life up here in MI-01.

She was born and raised in Traverse City and Cheboygan. Her family roots, like Matt’s, go back here for generations. And when she and Matt decided to settle down after moving around as a military family, there was no question they'd move back home.

If you want a Representative who’s not afraid to shovel snow and actually understands the needs of our community, chip in your first donation of $5 today to help send Callie to Congress.

Enjoy these summer months while they last — and know that Callie will be here no matter what the temperature it is outside.

Gratefully,

Team Callie Barr
