Pray for a brother and sister who were sexually abused by a pastor in Kenya. For eight years, IJM supported the legal case against this pastor who abused his power to harm the siblings, and last week the judge issued a conviction in the case. Praise God for bringing justice at last, and pray for the continued healing of the siblings and the church community.
Latin America
Praise God for the opportunity given to the Bolivian Global Survivor Network chapter, Grupo Fénix, to advocate for victims and survivors of sexual violence. During a fair organized by a University, Grupo Fénix used shadow theater, songs and a presentation to raise awareness among the public about the significance of not overlooking acts of violence and avoiding victim-blaming. Pray that God can work in the hearts of the audience that attended the event.
South Asia
Pray for 12 minor boys recently rescued from a jewelry factory as they return home. Traffickers had lured these boys from impoverished families and forced them to work for months in cruel conditions. Local authorities said they were shocked when they saw the living quarters and intense work. Pray that IJM and our partners could help these boys recover in freedom and reconnect safely with their families.
Asia Pacific
We are praising God for an event hosted by the United States Institute of Peace that helped spread awareness about cyber-enabled transnational crime in Southeast Asia. This discussion, hosted by experts from the region, examined the connection between human trafficking and cybercrimes like forced scamming. We are grateful for continued opportunities to spread knowledge and awareness about this ever-expanding crime.
