In a shocking disregard for the principles of diversity and inclusion, my opponent, Rep. Jack Bergman, has shamelessly aligned himself with the Freedom Party. He is co-sponsoring their resolution to eliminate the House Office of Diversity and Inclusion (DEI).
The sponsor, Rep. Alex Mooney, stated the office is "the latest woke liberal method of injecting cultural Marxism into the workplace" and "these offices start with the premise that white people are inherently racist and oppressive."
Wrong again. We cannot let Bergman's destructive agenda prevail. Our fight for a Congress that genuinely represents and uplifts every American is at stake.
The DEI staff helps prospective House employees by offering training, mock interviews, and résumé reviews. Hardly threatening. Bergman prioritizes partisan politics over the values that make our nation strong and aligns himself with extreme regressive ideologies.
My opponent's fear of diversity exposes his own fragility and weakness, and it's not reflective of the values of #MI01.
As a rural white male, I am not threatened or ashamed of a program paving the way for all people to advance. The House DEI Office is doing good work.
We cannot Jack Bergman's regressive agenda erase progress. Friend, if you're able, please help me get to Congress to protect the vital programs promoting diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
