FIRST: World leaders sounded the alarm about the situation in Somalia, with the UN warning of a ‘dire hunger emergency’ as famine looms and funding dries up.
NOW: More than 8 million people in Somalia require humanitarian assistance — nearly half the population — with more than 1 million displaced from their homes and 6.5 million facing acute food insecurity.
Critical aid is being cut due to a lack of international funding, so women and girls are counting on the gifts from private donors like you to stave off famine.
Make an emergency gift to deliver lifesaving care to the women and girls who need it most — in Somalia and beyond. [[link removed]]

Ifrah — a 28-year-old widow and mother of five — was on the brink of starvation when she fled her home to seek refuge at a center for displaced peoples. Armed conflict and the worsening drought have forced millions of women and families like hers to embark on grueling treks, with little water or food, for days on end in hopes of finding food and shelter.
The lack of basic necessities like food and water, plus the embarrassment of not having proper clothes and hygiene supplies, made life at the camp extremely difficult for Ifrah.
But when one of our outreach teams identified Ifrah as a high-priority refugee needing immediate support, she was relieved to receive clean clothes for herself and her two daughters and a dignity kit containing essential supplies for her reproductive health.

But when one of our outreach teams identified Ifrah as one of the refugees in need of immediate support, the team "helped me get some extra clothes and this very important kit to hide my shame," Ifrah told us.
For Ifrah, these items meant more than just physical comfort and hygiene — they restored her dignity and gave her hope for a better future. Despite challenge after challenge, Ifrah remains resilient and will have the chance to rebuild her life and provide a better future for her children.
With relief operations facing a major funding gap, emergency gifts are urgently needed to ensure more women and girls like Ifrah can live their lives with dignity, even amidst the darkest of times.
While the world turns away and programs get slashed as famine grips Somalia and the Horn of Africa, millions of women and girls are now counting on you, NAME. Donations from everyday supporters like you are the ONLY reason a famine was avoided in Somalia in 2022, but now lives hang in the balance as conditions again deteriorate.
Donate today to deliver dignity kits and lifesaving care to the women and girls who need it most. [[link removed]]
