Tech companies have fundamentally changed the landscape of our economy and our way of life over the past thirty years — and our government leaders decided to let these companies “self-regulate” instead of stepping up and ensuring tech benefited all Americans.
That’s why I’m unveiling a ten-point reform platform to address everything from expanding high-speed internet access to protecting workers from the effects of automation. It’s time for Congress to hold tech companies accountable — and I’m ready to hit the ground running.

Some highlights include:
- High-speed internet for all — Internet access is the economic engine of the future, and we can’t afford to leave anyone behind. At top priority for me in the Senate will be connecting rural communities to the internet with the same determination that brought electricity to rural America in the 1930s.
- Protecting privacy — Americans deserve to know when their data is being collected and how it’s being used. We need comprehensive federal privacy legislation that gives consumers transparency and control over their own data.
- Fighting for workers — Our country isn’t prepared for the coming wave of job losses due to automation. My plan calls for government and private industry to work together and retrain or upskill workers to transition into new careers and meet future economic needs.
- Advancing civil and human rights — Tech companies have more power over our rights than any industry in history. That’s why our government needs to regulate the use of facial recognition technology and increase accountability for companies that violate human rights.
