We have good news and bad news, team –

The good news is that Democrats in Congress have introduced The Freedom to Vote Act, which Attorney General Eric Holder called “an absolutely necessary piece of legislation to safeguard our democracy.”

But the bad news is that MAGA extremists have introduced competing legislation – and if their plan passed, it would undermine our elections across the country.

The MAGA Extremists’ Plan would weaken our democracy by:

❌Attacking voting rights, particularly for communities of color
❌Expanding dark money in our elections
❌Catering to the false claims of election deniers

The Freedom to Vote Act would defend our democracy by:

✅Setting national standards to protect voting rights and expand access to the ballot box
✅Securing our elections
✅Taking action against dark money
✅Banning partisan gerrymandering at the federal level
…and more!

Team, MAGA extremists are engaging in an unprecedented effort to undermine free and fair elections. But by standing up to extremists by taking critical pro-democracy steps like passing the Freedom to Vote Act, our country can live up to the American ideal of a government by the people, for the people.

The NDRC is working across the country to defend our democracy from those who seek to weaken it. Will you donate now to power our efforts?
