Hey team,

Around this time each month, Ben asks for a fundraising update from me and the rest of the finance team. And while it’s still fresh on my mind, I wanted to reach out and give you the same update so you’re fully briefed!

As Ben’s Finance Director, it’s my job to make sure we have all the resources necessary to run a winning campaign -- and to keep the lights on around here! In order to do both of those things, we set a variety of fundraising goals to ensure we have the budget we need to win.

To be totally honest, our fundraising hit a bit of a slump earlier this month and we’re still digging out of the hole. Because this race is expected to be really competitive (remember how close it was last time?), we need to play catch up with our fundraising. According to the numbers I just sent to Ben, we need to raise another $5,000 by the end of the week to get back on a winning track.

We ended 2019 with incredible support from our grassroots team -- blowing past our fundraising goals and proving to our opponents and their special interest backers that we’re ready for whatever they throw our way. And, team, they’re already hurling attacks at Ben MONTHS out from Election Day.
