ENOUGH
My Kid Refuses To Throw Anything Out ([link removed])

How many of you have a kid who loves bits and bobs and shiny pieces of trash? CJ Kelsey does: “She is a collector of everything — not just ordinary objects, but literal trash as well. Where this tendency came from, I often wonder. I’m not the tidiest person, but I also don’t covet scraps of paper and string,” she writes. “It’s a funny sight to watch her running around the house picking things up from the floor, diverting her path toward her bedroom instead of the trash can if I don’t catch her in time. To her, whether it’s a coin or rubber band, it may as well be a nugget of gold.”

You’ll get a kick out of it, especially if you keep finding shoeboxes full of “collections” that follow no rhyme or reason.

BLAME SNACKWELLS
I Accidentally Demonized Dessert for My Kid. What Now? ([link removed])

“Having been raised in a generation taught to fear fat, carbs, or sugar, depending on which diet Mom was on, I swore I'd set the stage for my kids to develop normal relationships with food,” writes Elizabeth Narins. “But just a couple years into parenthood, I started to feel like I'd gone wrong somewhere: Every time my toddler would cross paths with dessert (which, admittedly, was extremely infrequently), he'd either binge-eat or attempt to, then throw a massive tantrum when he didn't get to eat, like, an entire cake.” And so she’s trying to figure out WTF to do next — and she talked to some experts. It’s helpful stuff!
