Reports that the CCP demands that Biden lifts sanctions related to human rights abuses in exchange for fentanyl cooperation are alarming. Human rights should not be on the negotiating table with Beijing. The Biden administration should not turn a blind eye to the CCP's human rights abuses against Uyghurs in exchange for empty promises. We cannot let this happen.

I'm demanding answers. This week, I led a letter with my colleagues urging the Biden administration to negotiate from a position of strength, hold the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accountable for their role in the fentanyl crisis, and not turn a blind eye to the CCP's human rights abuses against Uyghurs in exchange for empty promises.

I'm so grateful to the MOMS Orange County team for all the important work they do to support moms, moms-to-be, and babies across Orange County. Thank you for the tour! As Maternity Care Caucus co-chair, I'm working on policies to reduce barriers to and improve outcomes of care.

I enjoyed catching up with our Aliso Viejo community at the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce Legislative Meet and Greet featuring Assembly Member Diane Dixon and OC Supervisor Katrina Foley.

The freedom-loving people of Hong Kong deserve our support against the CCP’s human rights abuses and malign behavior. This week, I led a bipartisan resolution to take steps to back Hong Kong and counter the CCP.

This week, I led a letter with 18 colleagues to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) expressing concern in the bureau's move to create unlawful policies that directly impact U.S. consumers, small businesses, and startups.

The CFPB has no authority to engage with foreign nations to make international deals to create policy. I'm fighting to protect U.S. consumers and business owners.

As peak wildfire season approaches, we must stay vigilant and protect our CA-40 communities.

Last week, my bipartisan initiatives to improve wildfire detection and prevention efforts passed out of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

Smash-and-grab crimes destroy small businesses and endanger livelihoods. This week, we saw another business victimized in Orange County. Organized retail crime to cannot become our new normal.

I'm leading a bipartisan bill to improve information sharing and response efforts to these crimes and protect public safety.

After a six-year vacancy, I am thrilled the position of Special Envoy on North Korean Human Rights Issues, with the rank of Ambassador, is finally filled.

Supporting the human rights of the North Korean people should be treated like a vital component of our North Korea policy, which is why I have been urging the Biden administration to fill this Special Envoy position since I have been in Congress. I look forward to working with Special Envoy Turner to support the human rights of the North Korean people.
