This week, Governor Youngkin welcomed home the Virginia National Guard members deployed to support Operation Lone Star. Governor Youngkin thanked them and their families for their service and for representing the Commonwealth with the utmost professionalism. 

Last Friday, Governor Glenn Youngkin and First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin presented the third 2023 Spirit of Virginia Award to Virginia Space Flight Academy (VASFA) on Wallops Island. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the nonprofit offers hands-on learning opportunities for students interested in STEM careers and space flight exploration through a combination of year-round classes and summer space adventure camps. Through its dynamic programming and vital partnership with NASA’s Wallops Island Flight Facility, VASFA encourages young Virginians to shoot for the stars!

This week, during National Night Out, Governor Youngkin celebrated the cooperation between our law enforcement community and our first responders who keep our communities safe. He also highlighted Operation Bold Blue Line, which has seized over 2,000 pounds of illegal narcotics, including 47 pounds of deadly fentanyl.

In a piece on loan from the Mount Vernon Museum, ‘Mt. Vernon Looking Down the River,’ artist and illustrator John Gadsby Chapman painted the estate from a perspective that shows its proximity to both the Potomac River and Washington, D.C.
