Dear John,

It’s my pleasure to announce NIRH’s 2020 partnerships! We are working with groundbreaking state and local organizations in 25 states across the country, and I’m thrilled about what we will accomplish together this year.

NIRH is investing $625,000 in partner organizations on the frontlines of the fight for reproductive freedom, and millions more in hands-on support to create change nationwide. Whether it’s working with advocates in New Jersey and Virginia to pass proactive abortion laws, or establishing municipal-level funding for abortion access in more cities across the country, or removing barriers to contraception in the reddest of states, NIRH is strengthening the movement for reproductive health, rights, and justice.

NIRH’s partnership model is unique, John, and something I’m very proud of. It’s not just what we’re doing, but how we do it. We embody six core values in our partnership work:

1. A deep-rooted belief in the power of local leadership;
2. A focus on proactive campaigns and policies that protect, secure, and expand reproductive rights;
3. Impact-oriented projects that are making a tangible, real-world difference in people’s lives;
4. Space for continuous learning, which means honest and open feedback between NIRH and our partners;
5. A focus on racial equity, so that we work towards the creation of health care systems that center the needs and voices of people and communities most harmed by unjust, unequal systems; and
6. Destigmatizing decisions people make about abortion and contraception.

NIRH has been providing state and local advocates with strategic guidance, hands-on support, and funding to create national change from the ground up for decades, and we’re thrilled to welcome new and continuing partners into our 2020 cohort.
