Our democracy is at a crossroads, and the choice ahead could define our nation's future. We at No Labels are working tirelessly to ensure that the voice of the commonsense majority is heard in the upcoming 2024 election.
We’re continuing to get on the ballot and more states and now we have a powerful and principled ally to keep the momentum going. Our big news this week was announcing dormer Missouri Governor Jay Nixon as our new Director of Ballot Integrity.
Why is Gov. Nixon, a Democrat, volunteering his time to help No Labels? As he wrote in a new op-ed for the St. Louis Dispatch: “No matter which side they’re on, critics are welcome to oppose No Labels and argue against them in the public square. What they are not allowed to do is attempt to undermine the rights of all Americans, including No Labels and its supporters. Yet that is what too many are doing.”
Gov. Nixon is referring to the well-funded efforts by some No Labels critics to intimidate No Labels supporters and employees and put legally dubious barriers in place to make it harder for us to get on the ballot.
As our national co-chair, civil rights icon Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, Jr., noted recently, these tactics remind him of “when southerners intimidated Black voters during the Jim Crow era.”
This news has made waves nationally, with coverage from the Gov. Nixon’s home state Missouri Independent all the way to the Associated Press. The media will continue covering us closely because they recognize the significance of what we're doing, and the reason for our momentum: the unappealing choices voters might face in 2024 with a likely rematch between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
No Labels just completed polling in eight battleground states, and we will be sharing the full results soon, but the big takeaway is American voters have never been more open to voting for a presidential alternative outside the two major parties in 2024. The overwhelming majority also support No Labels right to get on the ballot as they believe it creates a health democracy.
Our mission is clear, but it's not easy, and your support is the fuel that drives us. With your help, we can ensure that our team is equipped to accomplish this remarkable feat of obtaining nationwide ballot access, making every voice heard in the most consequential election of our lifetimes.
Please consider donating to No Labels. Let's make sure that the commonsense majority has a seat at the table in shaping our country's future.
