The Polaris Post

Dear John,

We are excited to share the launch of a new initiative: the Polaris Resilience Fund! This first-of-its-kind program provides cash assistance to help survivors meet their needs and start rebuilding their lives. And you can help: All gifts to Polaris will be matched through August 31!

Learn more about the Resilience Fund and other important updates below. We also hope you’ll forward The Polaris Post to others who share your values.

Together, we’ll create a world where everyone is free to choose how and where they live and work.

You Can Help Meet Urgent Needs

The new Polaris Resilience Fund aims to give survivors back what their traffickers stole from them: control over their own lives.

It’s a no-bureaucracy, guaranteed basic-income program — a model proven to strengthen financial security and stability.

The Resilience Fund will help survivors right now, as we continue working on the deeper, long-term changes to systems that will ultimately end trafficking. And you can play a part: Through August 31, your gift will be doubled in support of survivors.

Heard About Sound of Freedom?

This summer, many people are learning about human trafficking through the recent film Sound of Freedom.

The fight against trafficking needs all of us, and we welcome more allies around the world into the movement. At the same time, the film is a Hollywood-style depiction based on one person’s stories — not a comprehensive view of trafficking or a model of how best to end it.

As you see portrayals of trafficking in the media, we urge you to keep listening to and centering survivors — the true heroes in the anti-trafficking movement.

Take a Deeper Dive Into the National Survivor Study

Another way to keep survivors front and center is to share insights they provided through the National Survivor Study (NSS) — in ways they’ve asked them to be shared.

To support their own advocacy, several survivors requested easier-to-digest briefs about NSS findings on specific issues such as poverty, homelessness, child custody, financial abuse, and workplace conditions. Check out these new briefs on our website, and share them!

Looking for Other Ways to Help?

Did you know you can fight trafficking by donating airline miles or hotel points?

With these donations, the National Human Trafficking Hotline connects victims and survivors with transportation and short-term hotel stays to help them safely exit trafficking situations.

Here’s another way you can help: Through our partnership with FreeWill, you can give from an IRA or donate appreciated stock. These gifts allow us to help victims and survivors in real time while reducing your future tax burden.
