Hi John -- It’s easy to become discouraged by all that’s happening in Washington, D.C. Right now, we’re living in a scary, harrowing time for our democracy, and we need leaders in Congress who will stick to the facts, call out the lies, and speak truth to power now more than ever before.

Over the last decade, I helped retiring Congressman Denny Heck put those principles into practice as a member of his senior leadership team. I’ll always be proud of the work we did together, and I’ll keep speaking truth to power as your new voice in Congress.

But we’re still in the early phase of our campaign, and what we do now -- and what we raise especially -- is powerfully important. We need to communicate my story, who I am, and why I am the best candidate in the race to continue the record of service Denny and our team set in the last ten years.

I cannot do that without you. At the end of next month, we’ll submit our first FEC filing. Political analysts and our opponents will all look to these numbers to judge the strength and viability of our race, so we need to finish strong.

Before the end of the week, we need to raise $2,340 more to stay on track to hit our first quarter goal. I am asking you personally to dig deep and give $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can to close the gap.
