This Week: At A Glance




Monday, Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-02) toured the Cargill Kitchen Solutions plant
in Mason City, Iowa. She recently introduced the Ending Agricultural Trade
Suppression Act, or EATS Act, following a U.S. Supreme Court decision that
upheld California's ban on the sale of pork from certain farms.

Tuesday, Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05) visited the VA in Portland as part
of her ongoing efforts to help our nation's veterans. She recently led a
successful effort to authorize several veterans' projects across the country,
including securing $523 million to construct a new specialty care facility and
make other infrastructure improvements at the Portland VA. After President
Biden signed the legislation into law, Chavez-DeRemer said:



"This bipartisan legislation will ensure VA medical facilities across the
country, including in Oregon, are able to provide more high-quality health care
services to our veterans. I was honored to lead this legislation in the House
with Congresswoman Bonamici, and I’m glad President Biden quickly signed it
into law. I’ll continue working in a bipartisan manner to ensure those who have
served our country receive the care they deserve."

Wednesday, Rep. Young Kim (CA-40) visited MOMS Orange County, a non-profit
organization that helps families navigate the joys and challenges of pregnancy
and parenthood. In addition to serving as the co-chair of the Maternity Care
Caucus, Kim has introduced bipartisan legislation to expand our nursing
workforce and ensure programs that help mothers and expecting mothers with
substance abuse problems receive the care and treatment they need.

Thursday, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-02), and Rep. Mike
Gallagher (WI-08)were in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where they hosted a roundtable
discussion about taking on China and the need for a strong American military.
Gallagher chairs and Hinson is a member of the U.S. House Select Committee on
the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist
