The white supremacist gunman who killed 11 worshippers and wounded six others at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018, the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history, was sentenced to death by a federal jury on Wednesday. ADL and other Jewish organizations condemned the Trump campaign&rsquo;s comparison of his indictment to Nazi-era Germany. A new ADL report gave poor grades to social media platforms when it comes to supporting targets of online hate and harassment.

Pittsburgh Synagogue Trial Jury Votes for Death Penalty in Antisemitic Attack

&ldquo;Nearly every morning for three months, family members and survivors quietly gathered in a federal courtroom in Pittsburgh. They listened to witnesses recount the terror of the morning nearly five years ago when a gunman murdered 11 worshipers in their synagogue, and to witnesses who tried to explain what drove the man to commit such horror. And on Wednesday, they listened as a judge announced the jury&rsquo;s unanimous decision that the gunman, Robert Bowers, should be condemned to die.&rdquo; The New York Times:

Social Media Companies Falling Short in Protecting Targets of Hate, Report Says

&ldquo;Social media companies as a whole are not doing enough to protect targets of online hate, according to a new report by the Anti-Defamation League, an anti-hate organization. The ADL issued a report card this week grading nine social media platforms on their support for victims of hate. Twitch performed the best, receiving a B &mdash; the only network to score better than a C. The lowest mark went to Snapchat, which received the lone F.&rdquo; Spectrum News:
