Friends, right now LGBTQ+ rights, and especially transgender rights, are under attack in our nation.
That’s why Ed recently introduced the Transgender Bill of Rights, a landmark resolution to recognize the federal government’s duty in protecting the rights of transgender and nonbinary people and to ensure trans people have access to medical care, shelter, safety, and economic security.
Republicans and the far-right have made it their agenda to turn the trans community into a scapegoat, using both their dangerous rhetoric and their legislative power to make it harder for trans people to live their lives and get the care they need.
The only way to fight back against this coordinated attack is for us to be in unwavering solidarity with our transgender friends and neighbors.
The Trans Bill of Rights would do just that by enshrining civil rights protections for trans and nonbinary people into federal law, expanding access to gender-affirming medical care, investing in community and mental health services, and much more.
