The East Midlands' biggest free festival returns to Victoria Embankment this weekend!

The festival features live music stages, a mile-long funfair, street food, market stalls, children's workshops, bars and river activities. The spectacular firework displays take place on Friday and Saturday at 10.30pm.

Getting to the festival

Bus
Plan your journey by NCT or Trentbarton buses. For just £8 the Grouprider ticket allows unlimited travel on all NCT buses for up to 5 people (max 2 adults). After the fireworks, frequent shuttle buses will operate from Victoria Embankment back into the city centre.

Tram
The closest tram stop to the festival is Meadows Embankment, which is on the Clifton Line. Trams will operate every 10 minutes. The £8 Group ticket allows all day travel for 5 people (up to 2 adults and 3 children). You will be able to use all the Park and Ride car parks to get a tram to the festival.

Car
Book your parking in advance for just £8 per car (it's £10 on the day). The car park is accessed from Queens Drive (A453) and will be signposted from the A52 and the A60. The postcode for the car park is NG2 2GJ.

Stage line-ups

Riverside Festival 3

Riverside Festival will host live music over the weekend across three stages, featuring world music and innovative global beats, local DJs playing crowd-pleasing tunes, up-and-coming Nottingham artists, and one of the best free folk stage line-ups in the UK.

On Saturday and Sunday, in the Little Big Top area, younger festival goers will be able to brush up on their circus skills. The interactive workshops will feature stilt walking, plate spinning and juggling with Wolly the Clown, who will also be putting on family shows each afternoon.

Monument Stage

Grupo Lokito

Buffo’s Wake take to the stage on Friday armed with accordions, violins and a bucket full of gusto, after the Afrobeat and reggae-inspired Soothsayers.

Saturday will welcome Senegalese Awalé Jant Band, Soukous band Kasai Masai, and six-piece bhangra group Achanak.

Sunday sees Noga Ritter, whose music fuses Hebrew jazz with global grooves, and Grupo Lokito offering contemporary Congolese and Cuban music.

Big Top Stage

Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage

Local DJs play a crowd-pleasing, multi-genre selection of tunes on Friday evening, supported by saxophonist El Sax.

On Saturday we celebrate folk music with a line-up including seasoned folkie Marc Block, the alluring and playful Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage, Americana folk duo The Black Feathers, and Sound of the Sirens performing emotive ballads to foot-stomping anthems.

Fun Chorus, Carlton Male Voice Choir and Cranberry Flick perform on Sunday.

Bandstand Stage

Kelsey & The Embers

Across the weekend, the Bandstand Stage hosts a diverse range of up-and-coming new talent from Nottingham and further afield.

Artists include: Goodgoodbye, a new Nottingham-based evolving jazz pop project; reverb-soaked, alternative quartet Bored Marsh; local poets Sophie Diver and Cheska; atmospheric indie-folk project Grain Mother; and indie pop/rock band Kelsey & The Embers.

This Barbie has rocked the Box Office and coloured the world pink. Now she is stepping onto Luna Cinema’s screens, one pink sparkly heel at a time.

See the movie of the summer on a giant screen in the open air. You can bring your own picnics, blankets and camping chairs, and food and drink will also be sold on site.

Join the National Ice Centre for a host of free activities both on the ice and off the ice throughout the day!

Off-ice activities will take place on Bolero Square from 12noon and include: an inflatable ice hockey rink, shooting cage, table tennis, garden games and more to be confirmed.
