SIGN THE PLEDGE TODAY!
Florida’s SB1718 went into effect earlier this summer. For immigrants in Florida like me, this harmful law invalidates our out-of-state driver’s licenses, makes hospitals inquire about our immigration status, and opens the door for racial profiling on the road and in our very own workplaces! Click here to learn more about SB1718, what it means for your loved ones in Florida or those traveling into Florida, and what steps to take to protect yourself.
But, SB1718 has made Florida an unwelcoming place for everyone, even for you, Friend. Traveling into the state of FL accompanied by an undocumented person can put you at risk of up to 15 years in prison! You don’t even need to be driving your own car. Simply traveling through an airport with an undocumented family member or friend is considered a crime under SB1718.
Thanks for everything you do for our community, Friend! Together, we have the power to keep each other safe. Click here to learn more about your rights, and share these resources with your loved ones in Florida!
In unity,
Romina and the rest of the UWD Team
