New one stop shop Customer Hub officially opens
Executive Councillors joined representatives from Jobcentre Plus and GF Tomlinson to officially open the new Customer Hub at Loxley House, putting a host of services in one location to better support citizens.
Nottingham Revenues and Benefits service, which provides support for Housing Benefit and Council Tax services, and Housing Aid, have moved in to the new redeveloped ground floor area to join Jobcentre Plus and Nottingham Futures.

City Council identifies further savings to balance budget after more Government cuts

Nottingham City Councils Executive Board has agreed the further service changes that are needed to achieve overall savings of 15.6m in next years budget.
The council included 13.4m of savings in its budget proposals in December and has now identified the extra 2.2m needed to balance its 2020/21 budget.

New Broadmarsh development reaches construction milestone

Enabling works have begun for the construction of Crocus Place, a Grade A office development in Nottinghams Southside.
Demolition has begun of a disused factory, known locally as the Hiltons Warehouse site, near the tram bridge over Queens Road below Nottingham Station. This site will act as the site compound when works begin on Crocus Place later in the year.

New council homes in Bestwood and Clifton take a step closer
New council homes moved closer this week when plans were approved at Nottingham City Councils Executive Board (Tuesday 18 February).
The properties on the former Eastglade School site, in Bestwood, and a surplus garage site near Southchurch Court, in Clifton, will provide much-needed homes for people on the Councils waiting list.

Big Reading Challenge hits fundraising target to give more free books to children

Nottingham City Council has reached its fundraising target for the Big Reading Challenge which will see more free books given to children in the city.
City councillors including the Leader, Cllr David Mellen spent a week reading to more than 8,300 people at schools, libraries, nurseries and children centres across Nottingham.
