We also want to take a moment to honor the memory of Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, whose years of leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on New Jersey. Her tireless efforts in making the state a more equitable place serve as a guiding light for us to continue championing her work and preserving her remarkable legacy. |
Our Veterans Caucus is currently looking to expand their executive team with committee leaders that will play a crucial role in implementing impactful programs, advocating for veterans' rights, and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within our community. This relaunch aims to strengthen our commitment to advocating for disability rights and will help us mobilize around issues pertaining to the disability justice movement. On July 11, our Hindu Caucus and CoHNA (Coalition of Hindus of North America) attended the 2nd Annual Hindu Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. for a day of Hindu Advocacy on Capitol Hill to discuss important issues impacting Hindus in the United States! |

On June 14th, our NJDSC Black Caucus, New Jersey Young Democrats Black Caucus, and the South Jersey Young Democrats Black Caucus had a Juneteenth Celebration commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. The evening held space to celebrate the progress in equality that has been fought for for generations and for engaging discussions on the still ongoing fight for real, and systemically reflected, racial justice, and equality.

Our Jewish Caucus held their General Meeting on July 18, with special guests Congressman Josh Gottheimer, Senator Vin Gopal, and Assemblyman Gary Schaer to discuss how to mobilize around issues important to the Jewish community. |

Banned Books Read Aloud Monday, August 14, 2023 TIME: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.

Join our Progressive Caucus, LGBTQ+ Caucus, and Older Adult Caucus to read excerpts from books that have recently been banned or challenged. We will supply some books and the Amanda Gorman poem ‘The Hill We Climb.’ Feel free to bring your own favorite banned book to read from! Attendees will be able to purchase beverages from Wild Air and bring their own food. |
Championing Abortion & Reproductive Freedom Training

Join us for a discussion with NJDSC and the National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH) Action Fund on championing abortion rights and reproductive freedom! The training is hosted by NJDSC’s Jewish Caucus, LGBTQ+ Caucus, Progressive Caucus, and Women's Caucus.
NIRH Action Fund Director of Strategic Communications and Partnerships Meredith Kormes will train attendees on how to message on abortion and reproductive freedom from the grassroots to the state level.
