We have already started building thousands of critically needed affordable housing units while still protecting our natural and cultural resources, and we’re reducing homelessness by building kauhale villages across our islands.

We’re making Hawaii more affordable by lowering taxes for working families and providing subsidies for child care.

I also signed new laws strengthening gun safety, protecting women’s reproductive healthcare rights, and making government more transparent and accountable.

We’re strengthening access to pre-K education, expanding healthcare access in schools, and developing new housing for educators to address the teacher shortage.

We’re leading the way on sustainability, renewable energy, and action on climate change — Hawaii is the first state to mandate 100% renewable energy for electricity, and I was proud to deliver a keynote address at a United Nations panel focusing on sustainable development.

And, this is just the beginning — it’s my mission to deliver trusted and effective leadership and take action on our biggest challenges and the issues that matter most to people.
