Hi team!
As Pat’s finance director, I’m always reviewing our fundraising numbers and figuring out what we need to raise to make sure we have the budget to execute on all our campaign items.
But in reviewing our July numbers, I saw something a bit concerning: Our number of monthly recurring donors isn’t growing at the rate we were anticipating. That means the amount of money we count on coming through the door each month is lower than expected for this point in the cycle — which isn’t good news.
We rely on our grassroots recurring donors to sustain our campaign for the long haul and to help us stay ahead of the attacks Republicans throw our way. When you start a recurring gift, we can plan our budget accordingly.
You may be asking: “If I become a sustaining donor, how much should I pledge to give each month and what impact will it make?”
Here’s some math I did for you:
 *
   $3
   a
   month
   through
   Election
   Day
   totals
   $48,
   which
   is
   about
   the
   cost
   of
   100
   yard
   signs
   to
   put
   up
   around
   our
   district!
 *
   $5
   a
   month
   totals
   $80
   by
   Election
   Day,
   which
   can
   target
   500
   voters
   with
   our
   digital
   ads
   on
   social
   media.
 *
   $10
   a
   month
   adds
   up
   to
   $160
   by
   Election
   Day,
   which
   covers
   all
   the
   water
   and
   snacks
   we
   provide
   for
   our
   volunteers
   over
   a
   weekend
   of
   canvassing!
